Thailand in October/November

Had been planning on going to Chaweng/Samui or the like, but am concerned about weather conditions. Should we reconsider and head to the other side instead (Phuket/Patong).

Who has been there at this time of year and what are you thoughts?

Thanks for your time.

October is the wettest season in the whole of Thailand and the beginning of monsoon in Samui, but it can still be very wet in Phuket too, so you take your chances either side.

It's a risk but there are a lot of people that go in October as it's low season and cheaper.

Personally I'd have no problem going in the first half of October. I would go to somewhere like Hua Hin for anything later in the month. November I'd go to the Andaman coast.
