It is rife on the islands at the moment, just use lots of deet and be careful!

As you can see from the above links Dengue is always a risk in Asia and is on the rise generally. That said I have not heard of any dramatic rises associated with either Samui of Chiang Mai/Rai

As I said on the other thread just make sure the person uses a good repellent and there won't be a problem. In Samui our hotel always lit an anti mosquito coil on the balcony in he evenings.
