3 weeks in Thailand

2 of us are going 3 weeks this summer to Thailand (from mid August until 5th September). We are planning to fly to Bangkok, stay there a couple of days and after start a little tour through the country. We'd thought of spending 5-6 days to the northern part (Chiang Mai) and then travel to the southeast coast 2 weeks.

Is it a good idea? How should we preapre the journey (hotels, transport, money...)? Should we change and visit another part?

Thanks!

We're doing a similar trip in March. 4 days in Bangkok, 6 day tour in Chiang Mai/Chiang Rai with Trailfinders, 4 day experience in Khao Sok national park (near Phuket, Jungle area), 4 days in Phuket for beach time.

Hi,

Looks OK but if you plan to travel by rail you can book advance tickets. If you are keen on a particular hotel/guest house you could book in advance.
