2 weeks in Thailand in July

My boyfriend and myself are going to Thailand for 2 weeks in July (4th-19th).We've both never been there and would like some advice and tips as to where the best areas are to go to. We are flying into Bangkok so will probably spend a couple of nights there first. I am aware its rainy season so I'm gguessing some areas will be a no go. We really wanna see some authentic thai culture rather than just partying.

Thailand is a very big country. July its rainy season but not all over the country. If you want beach after Bangkok then head to east coast /gulf do Thailand ( koh Samui, koh Tao and koh Phangan) for best/ better weather. It is dry season in this side of the country.

Its not rainy season the the East (Gulf) coast.

You could do 3 days in Bangkok, 4 in Chiang Mai and then fly from Chiang Mai to Koh Samui for some sun/beach.
