My Daughters Passport expires exactly 5 days after we return

Hi

We are heading to Phuket on 27th August - my daughter has 6 months left on her visa at time of travel and it expires 5 days after we get back. Should I renew passport before we go or do you think it would be safe to travel with current passport?

Hi,

from my understanding if it is her passport you are talking about then you need to have at least 6 months on it.

Just in case any unforseen circumstances arise and you need to stay longer.

Better to be safe than sorry is my motto :)

Have a great trip

We had me the same issue with my husband as his passport expired just a few days later. To be on the safe side we just got a new passport as it needed to bed done at some stage.

I dont understand either. Are we talking about a visa or a passport?

The passport has to have +6months of validity for travel. As Aussies you dont need a visa for travel to Thailand for 14days.

Some countries will not let you enter if, upon arrival, you have less than six months on your passport. Get her a new one before you go. Why risk being turned away?

Hi

The OP talking about passport NOT visa. Yes you need to get her a new passport. You need to have 6 months left in your passport prior to return. Australia is one of those countries impose this rules.

You're not being clear, do you mean the 6 months is up 5 days after you get back or that the pasport expires.

In any case this is a good link to get info about visas and passports.
