3 nights in Bangkok, what would you do?

Hi

We are staying in Bangkok for 3 nights in March at the Imperial Queens hotel.

What would you do if you only had 3 nights there?

Many thanks in advance

Hi well we'll be in bangkok for 3 nights in august don't know if its any help but this is what we're doing.

Day 1 Arrive into Bangkok 6pm- check in hotel, shower, rest, head to khao san rd have a thai massage to get over jet lag, go out for a few beers a nice thai meal and a bit of shopping on Khao san rd market. SLEEP

Day 2 Have brekky then get tuk tuk to grand palace, wat pho wat arun and have a boat ride down river. Back to hotel for a shower and another thai massage then out for nice meal and a tuk tuk to Patpong night market or Suan lum night bazarre.

Day 3 We've booked Tong the guide (put her name in the search bar above you'll see lots of reviews of her). A whole day siteseeing with Tong to floating markets, elephants etc. Then probably just wander up and down Khao san rd more treatments and meet up with a few friends, we're getting married on Ko samui a few days later so will be meeting up with people that are also coming to our wedding from manchester.

have fun!

2. Re: 3 nights in Bangkok, what would you do?

For the evening/nights I would recommend some of the following:

1. The sunset cruise on Loy Nava Rice Barge (best thing I have done in my 7 trips to Thailand).

2. Sunset drinks up Scirocco. No need to pay over the top for food but have a couple of expensive cocktails (£4!!!) and get the best view of Bangkok as the sun goes down.

3. Muay Thai at Lumphini (and accept you will have to pay top dollar, about £20 each for ringside).

4. Have a wander around Suan Luam Night Bazaar and hit the beer garden for a wonderful array of food stalls (mega cheap).

5. Have a wander round Patpong Night Market. Yes it is dearer than other markets, yes it is a bit cheesey, yes it is a bit touristy, but it's a laugh.

6. Visit the Seafood Restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 24. A little bit pricey by Thai standards (still cheap for us) but Keith Floyd loves it. Not sure where else you get someone pushing a trolley for you, whilst you pick your live seafood, then go through a check out and watch them cook it for you.

Thanks everyone.

Anyone else got any interesting things to do in a short time?

How much does Tong charge?

Its hard to give an exact price as it depends on what you do and how long you use her for as to how much she charges.. you are best contacting her for a quote... her email is tourwithtong@yahoo.com

Things I would not miss in Bangkok :

Explore the river (use the tourist ferry to get on and off)

Suan Lum Night Bazaar

Khao San Road ( a real eye opener)

Lunch at Roti Mataba (near Khao San)

Floating Markets

Grand Palace, Wat Po & Wat Arun

Queens Park beer plaza for me !!!!!!!

A little more info about yourself or yourselves as the case may be. Interests, first time in Bangkok? married, singles, older, younger etc.

The Emporium Mall is an upscale shopping mall just across the park from your hotel. You go out the rear entrance of the hotel and through the park right to the mall.

The previous mentioned activities should suit you fine.

Patpong Market, MBK, Wat Po, The Grand Palace etc.

Also you might be interested in walking down Soi 22 and crossing Sukhumvit and checking out Soi Cowboy which is located between Soi 21 and Soi 23.

Check out the park behind your hotel early in the morning for a glimpse of how the locals start the day off.

Definitely set one night aside and do one of the river cruises.

This one is our favorite -
