Marriott Empire Place Bangkok

Hi,

Has anyone stayed at this Empire Place? Is there an eating area near the place? What can you say about the location?

Thanks.

Its a new building in an area that has seen a lot of construction recently, adding more highrise towers to the area. The immediate area is mostly high-end office buildings, but the BRT (see FAQS - Getting Around) runs past and Chongnonsi BTS station is a 10 minute walk. There are plenty of places to eat locally. Marriott has a number of hotels and serviced apartments around Bangkok and I would say that some of their other properties are in better locations. The Empire Place would be very easy to get taxis.

Does anyone know if Empire Place allows smoking in its rooms?

Thanks for any additional info about its amenities. I can't find much info or reviews about this hotel.

Have just had 2 weeks there - first in a 2 bedroom suite with my brother and then a one bedroom for a week on my own. Absolutely first class accommodation, service, facilities and location.

Cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Is the word "Hob" short for a longer word? I thought hob was for a small campsite stove, or batcheler apartment stove? So any sized including large full size resturant grade stove can be appropriately called a hob? Is hob a particular regional term like british or eastern europen? Or Aulstrailian?
