For eating you only have to walk out of the hotel, there are dozens of places nearby. Best shopping is at MBK (National Stadium BTS station) just a short distance away. Upmarket malls at Siam Station, or Central Department store at Childom station..

If you walk straight across road from your hotel there is the Arab area which has a decent Egyptian rest' looking right at you! There is a little side alley that leads through to soi 5 where you have Gulliver's bar which serves predominantly western food and is popular with tourists.Just over the road from Gulliver's is Foodland..a supermarket that has a very cheap rest' in there and great value for money(3$ meals)The next street on from there soi 7 (Nana)has an eating area where you will see 5/6 thai restaraunts all together cooking mainly seafood..also cheap!!As Drag' says you are fairly near to Nana BTS and only a few stops away from MBK,Siam paragon.MBK has some really cheap thai food rest' on floors 4/5....dishes vary from 30-60 ish baht ..very popular with the thai's!Other places are any where you see a whole lot of locals sitting down for lunch etc..you know the food is good!Curt recommended another really good place on the forum here yesterday as he is the real expert on the cheap eats around town!
