hotel for 1 night before flight

Looking for a moderately priced hotel .I want a hotel within 30 minutes of the airport ,that will allow me to spend a evening and part of amorning, to do some night viewing and a short morning trip sight seeing.A newer boutique hotel with comfortable beds would be nice.

Hotels within 30 minutes are all around the airport with little to see and do there. The airport express train takes about 20-30 minutes to get to Phayathai in the city center, but waiting time for the train, and then transferring to a hotel will bring it close to 45-60 minutes.

Choose a hotel in the Sukhumvit area, and allow 60 minutes to get to the airport. The Davis comes to mind, and there is a new hitel on Sukhumvit at Soi 31 but I can't think of the name. And about 50 others in all price ranges. I see no benefit to staying by the airport.

Its time is a constraint, there's no point in adding to it by going to Sukhumvit. There are several hotels near the Phayathai ARL station.

I guess you have to get a hotel in the city,or sit in the airport hotel.Otherwise you lose too much time. How is the night viewing of the temples and rivers?
