Bangkok dental clinics

Hi

My hubby and I are interested in going to Bangkok for some dental work (dental implants) and are looking at Silom Dental, Smile Dental Clinic and Thantaki Dental - has anyone been recently and do they have any feedback? I'm a little apprehensive about dental clinics as I've only been to the one dentist most of my life in sydney but it's so expensive there.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't been to any of the above but you don't need to worry about treatment in Bangkok. I've just had extensive work which took about 3 months, and 99% of it was totally painless and was expertly carried out. I'm very happy with the results. I won't recommend my dental clinic as its a bit out of the way for most tourists.

Bangkok dentists are as good as any, better than many.

My lifelong friend, a dentist of over 30 years, complimented the work my wife's dental work. This was the first time he had anything good to say about someone else's work!

I ve been to Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic, not sure though if its the one you meant.

This dental clinic in On Asoke road. Dr. Sunisa who took care of my crowns was gentle ,compassionate and competent. She really did a great job on my teeth. Check them out - I totally recommend Dr. Sunisa in case you decide to go there. http://www.dentalthailand.com/

I've had work done at the dental clinic in Bumrungrad Hospital. I was pleased with their work. Scheduling appointments can be a bit of a nightmare during peak tourist seasons though. And they close for a couple of weeks during the Christmas/New Year holiday time period (when I'm always around BKK).

Bangkok International Dental Centre (BIDC)...Their web site is very informative and their clinic just down from MRT Thai Cultural Centre..Had an extensive procedure there a month back and all worked out extremely good and very transparent.

Hey Jo I second the good report of Webster Johnson, I had a number of crowns done at Smile Dental in Asoke and have nothing but praise for the owner Dr. Thirisak who did my work for me. The quote in Australia was $11,500AUD and I had all my work done for just on $2000. More than happy to send you the email and adress if you are interested. I have referred a number of people to this practice and so far all comments are psoitive.

Im booked at bangkok smile in the next week or so for laser whitening and veneers. They've been great with their information and communication. A friends father is in Thailand right now and only last week had a number of implants and crowns at bidc. He has raved about the work in emails and calls home. He's ecstatic from what I hear.

I too have previously used BIDC (Bangkok International Dental Centre) and had 7 root canals + more. Was very happy!

May I suggest that you get an orbital (full mouth) x-ray done and email the x-ray to BIDC BEFORE you arrive. You can get an orbital x-ray done at most dentists. My husband emailed his x-ray to BIDC and they diagnosed a large abscess which was missed by our former Australian dentist. He had the tooth extracted and antibiotics before arrival and the tooth was successfully implanted.

Remember, if you are planning to have crown(s) and/or implant(s) that you need to make TWO trips to Bangkok. I don't think it is good value for 1 crown or implant.
