Air Conditioned Bus will be around the 500฿ mark (NZ$20), give or take 100฿, and take 9 or 10 hours.

Train is more expensive but much more comfortable especially if you get the overnight train. A non air conditioned berth is around 500B-600B, air conditioned is around 700-900B, but at least you get a comfyish bed for the night.
