Do it at home, you'll find it more reliable.

A good tailor will do even this job - it's so I started with Pinky Tailor, he didn't charge anything from my collague some time in 1980ies.

It depends upon what you are having done but around 100 Baht for hemming.

There are guys just by the side of the road with a treadle sewing machine that will do it. Just drop it off in the morning and pick it up in the afternoon. I don't know how they remember which stuff belongs to which customer but they do.

You don't say where you are but there are guys that do hemming, shoe repairs and watch repairs just along from Soi 33 on Sukhumvit Road.

You will find these sort of workers all over Bangkok and they would be cheaper than the shopping centre.

So long as you can point to what needs to be done you don't need to be able to speak Thai.
