Do you fancy a Curry in Bangkok right now?

This will be on interest for those who happen to be in Bangkok at present.

It would appear that Gold Curry Bangkok are offering their free curry to anyone who can finish it.

What's the catch?

You have 15 minutes to finish a 2Kg tray of curry. That's it!!

Apparently they have a number of eating challenges but this seems to be realistic for those whose stomach can take it.

The tray comes with an average size pork cutlet sitting on a bed of thin sauce and a mound of steamed rice.

Don't believe me?

Okay, check for yourself as they are on Facebook

https://www.facebook.com/GoldCurryBangkok

and here are the details:

Gold Curry Bangkok

20/3 Soi Sukhumvit 39 Sukhumvit Rd. Klongtannua

Wattana, Bangkok, Thailand 10110

Mon – Sun: 11:00 – 02:00

Good luck!

It is quite easy to overdose on curry. A "free bowl" might not be worth the morning after!

Hopefully someone will take up the challenge and tell us about it.

For a preview, see if you can find the American based show "Heat Seekers" on the Food Network. It hilarious :) Ghost Chilli extract is pure evil.

For challenges of sheers quantity (and sometimes the hot stuff), look for "Man V Food" on the travel channel. Also American based and good for a chuckle.

There are a fair few others like this but these are my favourites.

Not sure i like the sound of that 'mound' of rice, my stomach is groaning just thinking of doing that in 15 mins!!!!!

With the comparatively cheap price of food in Thailand I am sure I would not put my stomach under that sort of pressure just for a free curry.

Never really understood these type of food challenges, dosent entertain me watching people scoff food down as quick as they can. For me a meal is about taking your time and enjoying the dining experience. But ay what ever floats your boat

I confess I could not do it.

Not even if it was a plate of tasty Bucatini alla Amatriciana!!

However, it seemed amusing and I thought I would share it.

Hi,

Unlike Strangolaprieviti I think this could be a deal breaker, not many Indian priests would take up this challenge I'm sure

Cheers

Frankly the mind boggles and the stomach rebels at the mere thought. Eeerk. Fancy having to shovel all that down at such a great rate of knots and then probably be expected to actually walk away afterwards without uttering as much as a mere groan.
