Bangkok cooking schools?

Hello..

Just wondering if anyone has any advice about cooking schools/ courses in Bangkok? We are in Bangkok for 5 days in early January 2013.. Hoping to do a course on one of the days but wondering where is the best place?? Hoping to experience local thai cooking..

Any advice would be great...

Hi, I heard that the Blue Elephant and the Mandrian Oriential Hotel have great cooking classes.

Saz362, try putting 'Cooking Schools' and 'Cooking Classes' etc in the Search In bar above. You will find more info on this subject but Blue Elephant is always recommended.

@Saz362: Do keep in mind how far these schools will be from the hotel you'll be staying at. They have multiple batches, they start early and the earliest batch get the best market visit compared to the rest (if your course includes a market visit).

I attended the Silom Thai Cooking School (http://goo.gl/JYZgy, http://www.bangkokthaicooking.com/). This is very nice place, loved the experience and the set-up. You might want to refer to the other options available: http://www.bangkok.com/thai-cooking-class/, http://www.cnngo.com/bangkok/eat/10-bangkok-cooking-schools-654075)

Hope that helps. Enjoy your Thai experience.

Cheers...

Thanks for the advice.. has anyone tried the Chef Leez school? or the Somphong Thai school? I really want to make a satay or phad thai..

I am actually in Phuket for the beginning of the trip - would I be better to do a cooking course in Phuket or Bangkok? Sorry about the questions..
