Is it possible to visit "Wat Arun" in early morning hours?

Hi friends,

I will be in Bangkok one day on Dec-13. I have booked a hotel near the Wat Arun temple. I am primarily into photography. I heard that , we can get a wonderful view of the city from the top of Wat Arun. I heard that the temple opens only by 9 AM? Is this correct?

I would like to go up there early in the morning and witness the sunrise from there? Is this possible , please advise.

I am also planning to visit "The Grand Palace" by 9 am, once i come back from wat arun

The sun will rise at 6.32am on 13 December, so it looks like you will be out of luck with your photos from Wat Arun.

First, I have climbed Wat Arun, didn't feel the city view was fantastic.

You cant climb all the way up to the top. The maximum you go maybe about half way?

You will get a much better view if you go up to the top floor of the millenium hilton where the club lounge is.

i am sorry to tell you that Wat Arun is inside a complex of structures(ruins). you cannot enter this complex until opening time. the view is very nice when you climb as far as you can, but you cannot climb to the very top.

hope that helps you, Jo
