Hi Can some one advice how i can go to Dusit palace from Thewet Pier. As per Google maps it has about 2 Km from this pier.It is too far to walk. Can i take a meter taxi or Tuk Tuk from this pier. How much would it cost for transportation...?, i know that mansion entrance is free as i will have the ticket for Grand palace.

There is a pack of motorcycle taxis waiting at the pier, if you are brave. They are how most leave the area.

Or take a taxi. 35 baht. (Don't accept any fixed fare. If the driver proposes a fare, wave him on.)

Hi,

Make sure the taxi driver switches the meter on. If the driver suggests/states a fare (which is likely to be higher than the norm) take another taxi. I don't know the taxi fare but bill2p above states that it is 35 baht and that is what you should pay.

Here is a picture looking at where you exit the pier. The cement stairs, to the left, are to the express boats. The wooden walk is to local ferries.

The eatery, under the Pepsi sign is "Cook Chom's". This is one eclectic food shop. Cook Chom quit the regimented hotel restaurant grind to open his own place. He puts out tasty "plates", from a classic, open shop.

If you pan the pic, you will see motos, tuk tuks and even one taxi. You may get lucky and find a taxi there. More likely, you will need to walk out to Samsen.

Do not use a tuk tuk, they will cost more than a taxi.

I went to see Vimanmak mansion by the Express boat and then i took a Motorbike taxi for THB 40. The place was good, though i have to spend another THB 20 for keeping my stuff in a locker before i go to the mansion..

On my way back i walked bit further from the entrance and found a bike taxi for 30 THB to the Pier.

Thank you for all your guides.. !
