Airport to Pathumwan Princess

Hi everyone. Just wondering what would be considered the best way for 8 people plus their luggage to get from the airport to the Pathumwan Princess hotel. Any guidance would be appreciated :)

2 taxis from the official taxi rank should do it just fine!

Cost for each taxi including THB 50 airport surcharge, and about THB 70 as tolls should be in the range of THB 350-400.

Maybe you want to consider getting a 9-seater van from the various limo services as the charges of it versus getting 2 cabs is small?

I reckon the charges of the 9-seater may be higher than 2 cabs.

But will it fit the luggage of 8 is also the Q

8 with luggage .. better getting a van from one van/limo desks.

You will struggle to get 8 and luggage into 2 normal taxis. You would have to be lucky and find a larger van type taxi in the rank.

There is basically no boot room in Bangkok taxis as thats where there fuel/gas type tank is stored.

Yes, hiring the van will be more expensive compared to 2 taxis but not too much.

And it definitely has a better chance of putting the bags compared to 2 taxis.

My 1st visit to Bangkok we had a van with 8 pax plus a driver and a guide, together with all our luggage and we didn't had any problem.

Recommend to book the transfers through an incoming agent so it will be their decicion how big van/bus they'll use as 8 pax can have a lot of luggage.

Hi,

You could book a mini bus in advance:

SiamKat

I know your post was tongue in cheek, but did you know that you can do this journey for free on the buses?

Here's how: Take the free shuttle bus to DMK and from there go onto the main road and take the red 29 bus heading into Bangkok, (get one with the long blue sign along the bottom of the front and back windows, and above the door; this says, in Thai of course, that the bus is free), which stops outside the Patumwan Princess!

If you can't be bothered to wait for a free bus then it will cost you 7 baht.
