Hotel near Ratchaprarop station and major shopping malls?

I am only going to be in Bangkok for 48hours to shop only on our way through. Therefore am wanting to stay near the major malls from Platinum all the way to MBK and also be on the Ratchaprarop airport link line so we don't have to change to the BTS to our hotel. I haven't booked a hotel yet. So... is the distance from Platinum to MBK walkable or ridiculous or do we just get on the BTS closer and more central to the Siam shopping area. We have 2 teens with us too and arriving at about 9:30 at night too so we will need to taxis. Thanks

It is an easy walk from Platinum to MBK, and if you take a shortcut through Central World you will get the benefit of a/c. There are plenty of hotels around Ratchaprop ARL station, eg. Indra Regent Hotel, and also places like the Novotel, Arnoma and Amari which are a bit nearer to the shops you mention.

The ARL runs until midnight, so you could get the train to Ratchaprop Station. However, if you decide to go by taxi, and there are 4 in your party, then you will need 2 taxis.

Baiyoke Boutique Hotel also not far from Ratchaprarop Rail Station.

Less than 45 baht each to get to Ratchaprarop using City Line.. Walk to hotel is an option unless your kids can't carry their bags.
