Is taxi the best option? Or is the BTS available from the Don Muang airport?
Taxi is easiest. But you can get a bus to Mo Chit and then the BTS down to Ratchathewi*. The former would be 300-350bt the latter 75bt per person.
*BTS to Victory Monument or Phaya Thai

Thank You!
Taxi is easiest Approx 300 - 350 baht all in.
Shane, regarding your answer #1, why would she not just take the BTS directly to Ratchathewi BTS station? Why do you say "to Victory Monument or Phaya Thai"?
Kimmy, I think the answer lies in where your hotel is in relation to Ratchathewi BTS station. If it's the Asia Hotel, which has a walkway directly from the station, or the VIE Hotel or the Evergreen, both of which are just steps away from the station, then by all means take the A1 or A2 bus to Mo Cit and change to the BTS for a total cost of only 67 baht. But if your destination is some distance from the station, then take a taxi.
As for getting back to DMK you could either jog up two stations to Victory Monument and then take the A2 or the 538, or reverse your inbound trip and take the A1, A2, or the 29 from Mo Chit.
