Hi

If you have mobile phone with you then get the Thai SIM card to put it in your phone. You can get SIM card from phone shops, mini mart, 7/11.

From 1-2-Call use 00500 as your international access code for the cheapest rates. You would dial 00500-41-[number]. You can also use 005, 007, 008, or 009. I couldn't find the current rates for 00500 (they used to be clearly on the AIN website but it's now hopelessly muddled) but 009 is 5 baht a minute to fixed lines and 10 baht a minute to mobiles and I know 00500 is cheaper. Dial *005* 41 *0* # to get the 00500 rate to Switzerland. *005* 41 *1* # to get the rate using 005. It should return a text notification.

If you have a computer, Smartphone and Skype, you can use SkypeOut to any phone for about 2 cents a minute.
