alternative transport from don muang airport

Since some postings have revealed that taxis would be scarce at the don muang airport, what other alternatives are available from the airport to bangkok city? Thank you in advance.

Scarce taxis?

Do a forum search and you get many links on other transportation.

Why may taxis be scarce?

Anyway, you could take the A1 or A2 bus to the BTS or MRT line. You could take a train from Don Muang railway station and change to the MRT at Bang Sue.

There are also other buses which go to various areas of the city.

Hi,

As suggested taxis are unlikely to be scarce. As Bill notes you could take the A1 or A2 bus from the airport to Mo Chit and from there the Skytrain if you are staying on Sukhumvit or Silom.

There are also many local buses running outside on the main road. For example, the legendary #29 (cheap red non-aircon; still inexpensive orange or yellow aircon) southbound to Mo Chit, MBK, and Hualamphong Station. Make sure you have small change, or notes (preferably green 20 baht notes – and certainly not larger than red 100 baht notes) to facilitate the conductor's change-making process. Not ideal if you have lots of large luggage.

But, basically, I doubt that you need to worry about the availability of taxis.
