Connecting flight to Krabi from Bangkok

We arrive at Suvarnabhumi Jan. 22nd at 7:10 AM on Qatar Airways. We would like to hop on a flight to Krabi right after. We were wondering if the Thai Airways 11:10 AM flight is pushing it close or will that give us adequate time to clear immigration and make it to the appropriate terminal. Would booking the 1:10 PM flight be smarter? Given the current situation in Bangkok, Id like to know what the best option would be.

You should have no problem with a 4 hour transit in BKK unless your incoming flight is seriously delayed. As you have already booked your Qatar flight and if you book the earlier Thai Airways flight, you could request Qatar staff at check in if they would put your luggage straight through to Krabi which is what would have happened if you had booked both flights on a single ticket. They are not obliged to do so on separate tickets.

I've done the same with only 90 mins in between, 4 hrs is plenty you'll be fine - so long as your previous flight is not delayed like Arandora mentioned above.

BKK Suvarnabhumi is pretty easy to navigate - and immigration hasn't taken too long in my experience there.

Enjoy the trip - Krabi is amazing!

I you're able to check your luggage through, you'll clear Immigration in transit and customs in Krabi and stay airside.

If you have to reclaim your baggage and check in again, you'll have to get through Immigration and then baggage claim. It will take the better part of an hour until you're out in the Arrivals hall. There are no separate terminals at Suvarnabhumi. You then go upstairs to Departures on Level 4 and find the Thai Domestic check-in counter.
