I have just seen some pictures and read some news stories that Bangkok is suffered extra normal gridlock during the protests which are quite large I understand. We plan to use the BTS to get around and foot where possible but we are going to need to get out of Bangkok and may need to use a taxi. I am counting on the driver knowing where to avoid but during the protest, is this the best plan to get around? I read where you cannot get near the MBK, Victory Monument and Chatuchuk market because they are near protest sites with large gatherings. Is this correct and what is the best way to get around in and out of Bangkok now that the protests have begun?
