Elections & Alcohol bans - April 2014

I see in the Bangkok post that there will be election re-runs on 27th April, and advance voting on 20th April. Can anyone advise will this mean Alcohol bans in all Bangkok on both of these weekends?

Thanks

I've never been in bkk on Election Day but I have been in other parts of Thailand. They're not legally allowed to sell it..............

No need to panic, the dates have not been yet agreed by all parties as the government wants them sooner.

Ok, thanks. Hopefully they'll take into account my trip.

Do you know if restaurants/markets etc... are still open?

Just an alcohol ban so some bars are closed, that's all.

I can't confirm this about Bangkok, as I said I've been in other parts of Thailand on Election Day but never Bangkok. But wherever else I stayed, they simply poured my beer into a 7up bottle or a coffee cup and told me to be discreet!!!! So if you are there for it, have a look around the bars and see.

Everything open, just no booze. Doubt not drinking for 2days would ruin your holiday.

This is horrible as I am getting into bkk on the 25 h and leaving on the 28th with the idea of partying 😭😭😭😭😭 this kind of oisses me off actually. Every time I've been to Bangkok it was for surgeries. Now the one time I, going to enjoy its nightlife there will be a ban? What about fine dining restraints will they ban wine?
