Bangkok hotels under 800 baht?

Any chance of finding something with pool, fridge & safe in bangkok for 2 not much over the 800 baht in the first week of april? Or just room, fridge (is necessary - am on insulin) and safe for even less. Must be central-ish. Thanks, sarah.

Yes, i know these sites. Was hoping for some inside information, as we will look around when we arrive and dont want to book ahead. And you cant haggle on an internet site!

Hi,

We usually stay at the Honey Hotel on Sukhumit Soi 19. It has what you require but costs 1,000 baht a night. However, it is very close to the Asok Skytrain station which helps no end in getting around the city.

Erawan House on Soi Chana Songkran hits all your buttons, although their rooms are going for 900 baht, not 800 -- maybe you can bargain them down. The rooms have little fridges and safes, compact but attractively furnished, in an old shophouse that's been opened up to provide an airy interior, on a quaint lane between Rambuttri and the river in Banglamphu. agoda.com/erawan-house/hotel/bangkok-th.html
