Hi

Yes but some sections (furnitures and nursery) are open on Friday.

If you go on Saturday or Sunday, get there early as it gets VERY hot there after a couple of hours...

Thanks everyone...only in bangkok Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday morning. This helps. Trying to find a good/authentic market on the days we are there. Not interested in the big shopping centres. Cheers

I'm not sure if its still operate but if you walk along the footbridge from the front of MBK towards Siam square there are many hundred of stalls lines the street. They are only there nighttime through.

check out china town, Pahurad, Boabae areas for market feels.

Go early ( be there when its open) to beat the crowd and the heat. It can get very HOT towards midday to afternoon.

We were just there on Sunday, July 13th trying to get there as early as possible. Got there as a few were opening up - 7:30 but no one would sell to us - told us to come back at 9:00 am. So we tried the malls but found they didn't open till 10:00 am. So, back onto the metro and back out to the market for the 9:00 opening! I think they might have opened a little bit earlier but by the time we were back and forth it was 9:00 when we got there. Lots to see, you can spend hours.

We've just returned from Bangkok where we spent 5 nights. MBK was our go to place for shopping, but we also enjoyed Asiatique which is a bit more upmarket and Pratunam. Another place we found was beside Bankapi Mall, but it's a bit out of the way but very cheap as there are no tourists there. You can go to Chatuchak on a Friday, but it's mainly wholesale.
