Mr Thai Travel just outside Rambuttri Plaza. One to avoid.

We were staying at the Rambuttri Plaza Inn and found it to be a great location. Our next destination was Ayutthaya and we needed travel advice as we needed to avoid the protests at bus station. Mr Thai is located just outside the hotel so we bought mini bus tickets to Ayutthaya for 200 baht each the night before. We thought it was a bit pricey but we opted for what we thought was the most convenient way of travelling. The bus did not turn up the next day. A young boy escorted all the waiting travellers to the main road and was making several phone calls. We waited over half an hour before this lad hailed a taxi and started to put our luggage into it! 3 of us were asked to enter the taxi with no explanation at all. The taxi took us to a remote bus station in the outskirts of the city where we were directed towards a local minibus, again no explanation was given. We then had to wait while this minibus filled up with locals who were charged 20 baht by the driver....Having travelled around SE Asia this was the first time this had happened so we were very disappointed in the service and price charged for the trip. This was a bad mistake and from then on we made our own travel arrangements for a tenth of the price. We never saw Mr Thai again even when we went back to Bangkok so we were unable to voice our concerns to him. We will not use this travel agent again in the future. A very disappointing experience.

20 baht is less than a dollar.

its was 200 baht. The point is if you want a straightforward journey i.e. being told you are being picked up from the hotel by the minibus and you want to travel directly to your destination this is not the travel agent to choose.

Getting stuffed around happens in Thailand once in a while.

I booked a mini bus from the Samui pier to Krabi once and ended up on a slow bus that stopped 50 times in small villages. I actually enjoyed the scenary and all the local food vendors who came onto the bus.

Sometimes you just have to chill.
