Not sure what you mean by "central bus station."

Bangkok has a north-and-northeast bus station, an eastern bus station, and a southern bus station - plus others - if you mean intercity buses. A separate, independent station is that for Nakhon Chai Air, which is arguably the best-regarded bus operator and runs services to Chiang Mai and to several cities in northeastern Thailand. (http://www.nca.co.th). That NCA station is near the Northern-and-Northeastern Bus Terminal.

Bangkok has several major interchange points for city buses - the largest of which might be the one at Victory Monument.

BKK airport has a satellite bus facility, where a few city, and inter-city, buses arrive and depart. It can be reached by gratis shuttle bus from the terminal.

If you arrive at DMK airport, the main road outside the airport carries many buses to northern and northeast Thailand. A few of those will stop for passengers at a designated area near the airport - if they have vacant seats. (But it might still be best to go into the station, for a more certain booking.)

Both airports have train stations attached to them. BKK airport has the Airport Rail Link in the basement of the terminal, and has a regular rail line (the eastern line) running nearby. DMK has the Don Muang rail station just outside - carrying trains to the north and northeast.

If you say which airport you're arriving at, and what your intended destination is, perhaps someone can help.

But, in general, you can't completely reach any of those bus terminals by urban rail (other than the smallest Eastern Bus Terminal at Ekkamai Skytrain station, and, of course, Victory Monument). City bus or taxi transfers would be needed. So, maybe, a taxi directly from the airport to the appropriate bus terminal could be suggested.

From what airport?

To what bus station? (If not sure - what city are you trying to get to?)

What time do you arrive at the the airport?

Sorry not to be clear. We arrive at Suvarnabhumi airport Bangkok at 9 50 am and thentravel on to Ko Chang Island. i believe there is a direct bus that leaves from the airport. If the times are not coresponding then we might have to go to Victory Monument bus station where I have seen there are buses leaving for Ko Chang several tmes a day. Thank you fir you reply

Hi,

There are buses from Mo Chit and Ekkamai bus terminals, perhaps someone can give you an idea of the times.

If you're checking the buses that leave from (or call in at) the airport, you'll have to go to the airport bus station. Get there by free white shuttle bus leaving from either end of the air terminal. Take the express shuttle unless you'd like a tour of the airport. From the airport bus station there are also vans leaving for Victory Monument. (There may also be vans heading for Mor Chit bus station -- I'm not sure.)

If your bus is leaving from Ekamai bus station, take the Airport Rail Link (ARL) from the lowest floor in the air terminal to Ramkhamhaeng and then grab a taxi across the street in front of the Nasa Vegas Hotel for 60 to 80 baht on the meter (don't even discuss a flat fare).

Getting to Morchit bus station is somewhat more of a hassle. I would probably go for a taxi. But you could take the ARL train to Phaya Thai, the BTS to Mo Chit and then you still need a taxi or motocycle to get to the bus terminal.

Firstly, there are 3 departures listed (the 7:30am one is from the airport terminal I believe) listed for Trat and the ferry pier for Koh Chang. Check the inof in this thread, tripadvisor.com/…56802029

However, you should call to confirm the times. You could possibly make that 11am departure.....

If not, then Ekkamai will be closer than Mo Chit. Also, regarding your Victory Monument reference in your post, pls note that these are mini vans NOT buses.
