Accomodation Suggestion in Chiang Mai?

We want to be at a good location for sight seeing, restaraunts, bars etc. Could someone recommend something nice for around the $40-$50 Price range? (1200-1700). Thanks :)

I stayed at the Riverside House (guest house) back in September in a delux room for 1,000 baht. The price included breakfast for 2. The night market is a short walk away and there are a number of restuarants and bars in the area. However, please do note that it's about a 20 minute walk to the central part of the city.

We stayed at Pats Klangviang in November. Its a guesthouse with only 9 rooms and lovely owner/staff. Breakfast was included and was yummy. Sorry, I can't remember how much we paid, but we didn't want to spend much on accomodation so assume it wasn't badly priced!

I highly recommend it.

Have fun

You don't mention when you are coming to Chiang Mai....? This is now high season so hotel rates will be higher...

One place I checked out and actually booked for December, but then had to cancel due to illness was the Vieng Mantra Hotel - right next to where the Sunday Walking Market is and very central to lots of restaurants and shopping in the old part of the city. The rate that I was quoted was about $75.00, so over your quoted budget, but it gets rave reviews from many previous travellers...

There are so many places to stay in Chiang Mai - why not check out "Chiang Mai Accommodations - Trip Advisor" to see the variety of hotels, locations, rates and travellers reviews.
