Advice please

Hi, I am in the planning stage of a trip to Thailand (Chiang Mai, Koh Samui & Bangkok) in end March early April and have just discovered the crop burning issue. We had been thinking of arriving CM on March 30 for four days and it looks like this is normally a time of extreme smog, can anyone advise when would be better to travel here? Our other main option would be July or August but I think this is rainy season and we were hoping for some sun. Any advice would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

1. Re: Advice please

July is best as it should rain only at night, Aug and Sept has much more rain. The problem with March and April is the heat not so much the smog any more like previous years, much worse in China, Malaysia and Singapore from the burning in Indonesia.

Normally the haze comes end of Feb to March but it is different every year.
