Promenada Resort Mall

Posting this up on behalf of the GF. Is the shopping mall worth going to? What is it like? How are prices?

***Personal Opinion****

NOPE! Complete waste of time. Check out the new Central Festival Much better selection of stores, food and choices of things to do. Also closer to the city.

Prices are similar throughout most of the malls. Local stuff is reasonable, imported goods are expensive.

Promenada is a more open design, less stores. It is a little more high end oriented. My wife & I frequent it because it has a huge Rimping Supermarket and better movie prices.

Central Airport and Central Festival are both high rise shopping malls, crammed with stores. Other than Festival being newer, I don't see a huge difference between the two Central Malls, unless there is a specific store you are looking for that one has and the other doesn't.

Central Festival for fashion. (Topshop, Topman, Zara, Miss Selfridge, M&S, Uniqlo, Cath Kidston, as well as all the usual chain stores found in Thailand).

Airport Plaza for shoes, make-up and souvenir type stuff. Beauty market just opened on the bottom level. Here she can find all those wonderful quirky cosmetics the Korean and Japanese girls love.

Promenada does not offer anything out of the ordinary.

Prices ... nothing is dirt cheap and nothing is outrageous either.

Promenada is a beautiful mall in 2 buildings. It has a lot of space. Mostly high-end shops. Most local people come for the atmosphere, the cinemas and the economically priced food court. Restaurants are super-expensive. There's also the Rimping supermarket and Wine Connection stores, catering to expats and well-off Thais. Unless you have your own vehicle, it is not convenient to get to.
