Thanks

this is thailand, so it's up to you.

if you have stayed at a villa or resort previously and you want to stay there again, by all means book in advance.

if you are younger or more mobile and like to try new things, then by all means wait until you get here and find the best deal.

Remember that July is one of the main months for visitors from Europe and as such historically has been very busy.Next year may be different with all the financial constraints people are feeling.

In my experience walk in rates are usualy a bit more than when you book ahead online.

saying that, once you have stayed at a resort that you booked through an agent or on line you can sometimes get a better rate by booking direct, because some resorts will give you a rate minus the booking agent fee.

If you want to stay cheap then you should book just one or two nights and then go looking.

Warning, this can become pretty stresful in the humidity.
