Recommendations please

We are planning a two week trip to Koh Samui and are looking for advice on which beach and which accommodation to choose.

We would like a beach with soft sand and not too many rocks or bits of dead coral. It would be good if we could snorkel off the beach. We would like a location that is not super crowded, but still has a choice of a few places to eat, and perhaps some shops.

We would like a mid range hotel, something between about 2,000 and 4,000 baht per night. We prefer small or medium size hotels, not those with hundreds of rooms. Bungalow type accommodation would be good. A swimming pool is not essential, as we prefer the beach.

Any recommendations or advice would be much appreciated.

I would check out the hotels in South Chaweng, that's where the best beach is and it's quieter than the rest of Chaweng but still near restaurants.

Choeng Mon beach would be ideal. Samui Honey cottages, the white house and the boat house might be in that price range.
