Strong currents by the Conrad?

We've seen reviews stating, that there are strong currents in the sea by the Conrad, making swimming somewhat of a challenge.

Does anyone know if this is always so, or only in certain months?

Thanks for any input

I'd rather say that the shallow sea makes swimming at the Conrad somewhat of a challange. :)

Haha. We noticed on Googlemaps that there are rocks or coral close to the beach, but got the impression from some of the reviews here, that there might be a current when jumping and swimming from the end of the floating pier?

Were the reviews written in December/January? If so that might explain the current as the seas are rougher during those months all across the island. In any event, the Conrads not the best hotel for swimming. The seas very rocky underfoot and its not got a beach to speak of hence the pier.

Thanks for your reply. The pier will do nicely for us, I hope. We're not really "beach-dwellers". The children prefer the pool, but being able to jump from the pier will hopefully get them to go with us in the ocean :-)
