Hotel recommendations?

Just looking for a good value (budget) hotel in Koh Samui, that's in a decent location and is secure. Any past experiences that you've had would be greatly appreciated!

You need to give us some idea of your budget.

Oh sorry, about £12/600 baht a night. Any less than that would be great.

Sorry, I have no idea of places in that price range. A good idea is to go to the booking sites like Agoda and Sawasdee where you can search by price. Prices also vary dramatically depending on the time of year so you will need to factor that in.

Oh and you need to give people a bit of a chance to see your posts, bumping after 2 hours is probably a bit anxious LOL.

Thanks for your reply, but I'm never sure on whether the hotels on Agoda are as good as they say they are.

Once you've got some hotel names, just cross-reference the reviews posted on Agoda with those on Tripadvisor. It should give you a good idea of what to expect, before you make your bookings.

Hi

That is a hard task finding a decent place at that price but..

Penzy Guesthouse is worth a look. It is down towards the south of Chaweng just past the Centara Grand

Never stayed there but we met up with a traveller this year that was staying there and he thought it was very good. Good reviews. We dropped him off there one day and from what I could see of the reception area etc and the owners it seemed very clean and reasonable.

Not on the beach of course for that sort of budget but not a bad location.

You never said what area of Samui you want to be in. There are some cheap options in Lamai.

Remember you will pay for what you get so best you dont have too higher expectations.
