Koh Samui Accommodation

Hi We have a week in Koh Samui in Aug/September. Looking for beachfront accommodation, with lovely (uncrowded) beach. Don't want to spend a fortune...maybe 3 or 3.5 star. Want beachfront (or very close) bungalow, with a/c, and good food on site. Would be a bonus if easy to walk to other places for a bit of variety with the local food.

Have had some great help so far re suggestions of areas that might be more suited to chilling out -

Choeng Mon Beach (is this at Bophut?)

Tontakien Bay

Chaweng Noi

Can anyone tell me how I find what beaches are in what 'suburb/area' please? Suggestions with accommodation would be great.

You would need to give us an idea of your budget to get recommendations but start by checking out the Asiatravel and Sawadee websites to get an idea of availability for your budget.

Sounds like the Samui Honey Cottages Resort on Choengmon Beach would meet your requirements.

http://www.samuihoney.com/index.html

Choengmon Beach is a lovely white sand crescent shaped beach in the North East of the island and only about 10 minutes North of Chaweng and 10 minutes from Fisherman's Village in Bophut by taxi or songthaew.

Have a look at this map of Koh Samui www.kohsamui-hotel.com/map/samui-map.htm

Choengmon is a quiet area although it has several restaurants and bars on the beach and the road through the village and if you book a deluxe beach front bungalow you will only be about 10 metres from the beach.

Choeng Mon is perfect for relaxing and its only 10 minutes by cab to Bhoput. As well as Samui Honey cottages, you might want to have a look at the Whitehouse, Kirati or Choeng Mon beach hotel and Imperial Boathouse.
