With a 2 year old, can we walk from Fair House Villas & Spa?

Hi

We'll be heading to Koh Samui in Dec '13. We would be staying at Fair House Villas & Spa in Maenam. And, our 2 year old toddler would be travelling with us.. : )

Would like to find out:

1. Besides eating at its restaurant, any other restaurant/cafe/food stall nearby?

2. Possible to walk to those nearby restaurants/cafes/food stalls with our toddler?

Please kindly recommend some local food/must eat in Maenam, if not Koh Samui. Thank you in advance

Cheers

Even the hotels describes it self as a sanctuary. There will be other restaurants etc but you will have to walk to the main road for choice - which is think is around 400-500m.

Hi

If you like to try locals southern cuisine then you may want it try " Sabieng lae " restaurant in Lamai. The restaurant located not too far from grand father and grand mother rocks.

Also apart from Friday night walking street in Bophut fisherman village. if your there on Thursday there's night market in Maenam where you can sample yummy food.

Cheers,

TravellingMitch, thanks for the insightful info. Guess it's possible for us to walk to the main road.. : )

Hi SweetPea, we would probably have to rent a car to go 'round the island, and make a stop for Sabieng La. Though we would much prefer to explore with scooters; but now we had skip on biking with a toddler. Also, definitely would check out the night markets! Thank you so much!

Oh btw guys, we know Namuang waterfalls are beautiful. Somehow the walk up there can be quite a distance, right? Risky to go there with a 2 year old, eh?

Cheers

I would not attempt to do the waterfall at all with a 2 year old. It is a hard-ish climb for an adult (depending on fitness obviously) and I think it would be too difficult (dangerous even) with a little one unfortunately.

It took us hours and hours to get up there. When we got back down we spoke to the Thai guy at the bottom who had told us 1 hour and he said "If I honest you not go" LOL.
