Having booked both hotels for June next year, has anyone stayed here can you recommend any good restaurants bars close by. Are the above hotels nice and central and nice to stay in. Can anybody confirm we will not be holidaying in school holidays, we do not have children, June 7th to June 19th Thanks.

Hi, walking from the Centara down to Central Chaweng there's loads of options but if you want a restaurant for a special occasion Spirit House is a 5 minute walk from the Centara, it's on the opposite side of the beach so if you prefer listening to the waves Poppies Restaurant and Eat Sense are both good options.

Hansar is right at fishermans Village so I would have pre dinner drinks lounging on the giant beanbags at Coco tams then have dinner next door at Krua's but the choices are endless both in chaweng and Bophut.

Hi

If you're there on the weekend don't miss out on " Friday night walking street at fisherman village" . There are so many street food to be had.

Also make sure you try street and locals food. These food are cheap and deliciouse.

There are lots of restaurants around the Centara Grand. Poppies (turn left along the road) is £££, but if you want good value cheap food, walk about 10mins right out of the hotel along the road to opposite the Banana Sea Fan and Ninja Crepes is pretty good value!

but just walk along the street, left or right and you will find many places to eat!!

Do pay a visit to the Happy Night Bar, opposite the entrance to the Cenatara Grand. It is not a working bar, with no girls. But they are welcoming, have well priced drinks and a happy to help if they can!

Krua is pretty much next door to Hansar and serves good thai food and you can sit beach side eating it. To be honest there's literally dozens of places to eat and drink in Fisherman's village. Eaten in lots of them over the years and I've never had a bad meal in any of them. If you're there for the Friday night market I wouldn't bother eating in the restaurants but would walk from one street stall to the next eating the very cheap food on sale there. Its as good if not better than the food you'll get in any restaurants. Try the sticky rice with mango for desert, of if you can get it tri coloured pearls. Heavenly.
