We had lunch the other week at Treehouse resort which is down the way from the pier (you would still need a drop off there though, it's not walkable with luggage and kids). It's a lovely place and the food was excellent with loads of choice.

Tree house is a fab place, but if you go there from the pier, you will have to leave extra time to spare as traffic afternoons in Maenam can be hectic. If your plane leaves at 5pm you must be at least there at 4pm if International 15.30.

I would head straight to Bang Rak from there you can chill out and use the facilities of Samui Pier Resort, 10 minutes from the airport. Yan the owner will even allow you to shower, iand give towels, as long as you are buying drinks or snack of course. He has a small pool and located on the beach. He will also arrange a taxi for you, or you can stop out on the busy road and flag one down.

If you mention Michelle at Samui Explorer sent you then they staff will look after you
