best currency

Can anyone advise the best way to exchange money. Are we best waiting until we arrive in Thailand before exchanging our money into bahts and are we best taking English sterling or US dollars. If we exchange now we'd get approx 63 bahts to the pound.

Take a look at http://www.bangkokbob.net/money.htm

You'll get ~69 baht if you change sterling at a bank and almost the same using a card to withdraw from an ATM which is 10% better than changing up some cash before you leave. ATMs are everywhere in Thailand.

Definetly don`t exchange your pounds before you leave for Thailand. As of yesterday the 5th feb the rate was 69.18, here`s the Bangkok Bank link,I have found this to be extremely accurate as to the current rate on Samui

I usually take a mixture of cash & an ATM card, just check with your bank for the OS withdrawal & conversion fee.

With your cash no need for USD just your pounds will be fine.
