Cosy Hotel

What is this hotel like to stay at? Thought this hotel maybe an option to staying right in Pattaya. Location and pool looks nice. Reviews arn't bad but mixed. Can you catch the baht bus easy from here into Pattaya city? Cheers

Its a very pleasant hotel, stayed there a couple of times and no complaint - I'm thai but noticed that some of the staff had not so good English skills. Songtaew (baht bus) are almost always waiting outside the hotel. While the hotel is on the sea, there's not much of a beach, mostly rocky.

Very comfortable hotel away from noise and bustle of Pattaya centre. Taxis and baht buses do indeed wait outside but its not on the 10 baht route. Its 100 baht to get into pattaya or Jomtiem - the only downside of the location. Also this section becoming know as 'Russian' area of Pattaya, because of large amounts of Russian tourists staying nearby - but I find this no problem.

Spent 7 nights Ocotber 2008 -make sure sea facing.

hotel food acceptable-but cheaper and better outside.

internet cheaper at next hotel up the road.

No air con in common parts of hotel and corridors.

Hard mattresses- make sure you tired out when u go to bed.

American style b/fast available at Wishing Well (Brit owned) on the right and the cafe next door.

Also small restaurant opposite the Lucky Bar is recommmended.Avoid mini bar in the room- even the bottled water costs 80 THB and the 3rd sized bottle of Vodka 310 THB Better to buy stock from 7 Eleven stores.(Vodka 150 THB)

Access to the beach down about 200 steep stone steps -halfway down is outdoor massage.-beach disappointing.Jomtien Beach 8 kms much better.

Pools good- plenty of shade and loungers available- training pool ideal- less popular.

The gym too damn hot for 35 C exterior heat. Motorcycle 80 THB -hairy and risky

Taxi to Walking St 100 THB halfway up Beach Road 140 THB -air con saloons more expensive.

If you intend to hang around the hotel all the time then it might work out okay. But, if you intend to walk, shop and eat in other parts of Pattaya like on Pattaya 2nd Road or Beach Road you have to pay more for your ride to get to those areas.

Depends on what you want to do. A different hotel that is close to Pattaya 2nd Road or Beach Road will make it easier for you to walk to many areas and use the cheap 10 baht baht bus rides.

Here is a map so you can locate your hotel in relation to the main tourist areas.

Your hotel is located near the bottom of the map, not far from the #7.

Up to you.

Hey thanks so much guys for the helpful replies.

We have actually decided to stay in the middle of everything. We are staying for such a short time, it would be nice to walk everywhere or catch the baht bus. Otherwise cost of transport will add up with 3 of us plus time.

I am looking a the LK Metropole at the moment. It seems to be centrally located and gets consistantly good reviews from all sorts of travellers.

Love to hear if this is not a good location. Looking forward to our holiday. We leave in a couple of weeks. Leaving all the cold weather behind. Yeah!
