Looking for quiet hotel with a pool

Hi all, this will be my third trip to Thailand. I normally go to Samui or Krabi.

I want to give pattaya, samet and koh chang a go this time. I am looking for a hotel slightly away from the mad bar action ( though i will be venturing in).

I have read all the threads. at the moment i am thinking of the mercure, but i prefer smaller hotels. a nice pool is the main thing for me.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi i have stayed at the Pattaya Garden Hotel a couple of times which is in Nakalua road,i found this hotel to be very quite, has good pool, good size rooms, staff are very friendly.

If you want to go to beach road or walking street for the night life all you do is get the bhat bus which only cost 10 baht. But if you prefere to stay near hotel their are also good choice of bars and resturants within walking distance.

If you like Bungalows, Rabbit resort right on the beach in Jomtien, Sugar Hut really quiet on the hill, cheaper ,Chaba Hut, on soi Buakhao offer nice surroundings, and The Cottage offer 2 pools and is located near Big C on second road.

hi

went in November and stayed at the summer spring hotel soi 1.

the hotel was fantastic with a great pool on the roof overlooking the bay.

the hotel is quite new, it is far enough away from walking street but only 5 mins in on baht bus when you want to go in.

also the price is very good for the accomodation you get.

i will be staying there the next time I'm in pattaya.

areca has thrown a spanner in the works as its very central. Its only downside is the bad satellite tv/dvd reviews. ok i will not be watching loads of tv but its sometimes nice to chill in your room to have a break from the sun or before going out.

I have 6 weeks to research so i should be ok.
