Anyone ever stayed at mercure hotel?

I know pattaya well but I'm moving on from my old budget hotel that I used to stay in! I'm going for New Years, in June I stayed in pullman hotel which I loved but it's way too expensive for New Years and January. The mercure is in my price range, looks good. If anyone knows it, would you recommend it? What's in the spa? Sauna, steam room, jacuzzi? And most important is it a guest friendly hotel?

Stayed in Mercure hotel last November, nice enough hotel, brilliant swimming pool, good enough brekkie, tuk tuk shuttle down to 2nd road(although walkable in ten mins)......guest friendly.....yes.....but will charge you for your guest.....so i don't know if that means "guest friendly"...........quiet location.

Unsure of guest rate, but there is a charge for guest......i enjoyed my stay.....4 nights nov13......the swimming pool was the highlight for me,was on the 6th floor, balcony facing the pool, could sit in your balcony sipping a cold beer, nice breeze, also quiet, prob about 15 mins walk to walking street,7/11 shop 5 mins walk.....breakfast was brilliant.......but found it repetative by the 3/4th morning.......overall ticked most boxes.

Yeah it sounds good, definitly. I wish I could find out how much they charge for the guests, most places that charge, it's usually only 200 baht when I stayed in the pullman a few weeks ago they charged 1000 which was a bit much!

Luckily tho, in the pullman, for some reason after 2 nights, they decided not to charge me again so was grateful for that. I'll be there for 2 weeks from New Year's Eve on and wouldn't want to paying 1000 every time I make a new friend :)

I've been in pattaya and all around Thailand loads of times. I had always stayed in sawassdee sunshine in pattaya which is guest friendly and doesn't charge for guests but I used to spend a few months in Thailand at a time. Now I can only escape work for a couple of weeks so I'd rather stay in better hotels. I'm looking at nova gold now, looks ok and someone said in the reviews they don't charge for guests unless you have at least 2 guests!!!! It looks nice and booking.com have it same price as mercure. It's near soi 6 so might book into there. Thanks for the info mate, enjoy your trip! Can't wait for mine!!!
