Phuket - Regular visa or VOA - which is cheaper?

Hello

we are 3 families with kids travelling from India to Phuket this month end. Is it cheaper to get a Regular Visa or a Visa on arrival at Phuket airport? Please advise.

I have no idea how much a "regular visa" costs but a VOA will be 2,000 baht per person. You will also need POOT (proof of onward travel) before you will be permitted to board your flight to Thailand.

Thank you travelkat88, a regular visa, that is if I apply to the embassy here in India would cost me about INR 2000/-. So 2000 Baht is almost double that...

That's a huge price difference, Satish. It might be worth checking that because Thailand were offering VOA for 1,000 baht as a special gesture for a few months. This finished at the end of August and the cost reverted to what it had been prior - 2,000 baht. Hope you're right. Please let us know so that we can correctly advise others from your country.

Tourist Visa (Single Entry), permitted to stay for a period not exceeding 60 Days is INR 2000

ref: vfs-thailand.co.in/Delhi/visa_fees_at_glance…

VOA for 19 countries including India is 1,000 Baht

@ travelkat post #3

Until 31st August Single Entry Tourist Visas in India were free. VOAs were 1000 baht.

Your link about VOAs is incorrect. As previously stated in this anf many other topics before and after 31st August the cost of a VOA was increased from 1000 baht to 2000 baht. A lot of websites have not been updated. This one has desiyatri.com/thailand-visa/visa-on-arrival/

go for regular visa if you can get the same in your city itself or from nearby city, in India Thail Visa can be obtained by VFS centers, which are decent enough.
