Day 1– All I can say is Wow, Wow and WOOOOOWWW
Hi TA team! So yesterday I told you about our experience at the airport and in all fairness I am going to share with you so much information so it may appeal to some, not others but all I am experiencing in LOS. If you want to read on please do!
So first up, we are on our Air Asia Flight to Malaysia. As I said i am a travel troll and got a fare for $1002 for the 3 of us. I had organised our flights with us sitting as far back as we can because Ross always say’s if ever it crashes the likely survivors are in the tail section that rips off at crash.
Ok so folks I live with a practical pessimist lol. (wow 2 oxymorons in 1 week)
Actually, doing this was great as all the front 150 seats were booked up and given it was fairly empty down the back we were able to move to different seats just before take off; with Jean-Luc (ohh best explain you don’t pronounce his name as it reads, think of Jean-Claude Van Dam or more to the point thing of Captain Pickard from Star trek you will know his name.) moving over to a window seat, Ross in the other window seat and me in the middle 3. So 7 seats between us with them trying to communicate from one window across the plane to each other. How many times I told them off lol.
FIRST TIP: Go to the back and hopefully you get to sprawl out and sleep as we did on an overnight trip.
SECOND TIP: Don’t leave your wallet on board......Yes I lost my purse.....Hmmmmmm with $400 in it........HMMMMMMM.
Arrived at KL and noticed it missing when Walter from our KL guesthouse picked us up at 4am. So panic stations, not so much tears but a silent frustration as I tried to say......let me back on the plane, let me on etc, etc. Ross said Wen! Get over it, we have insurance! Ok 4am, I am tired so we go. I will post our wonderful experience with Jawadene on another post as I know already this is getting long. So much to tell for tips!
We left Kl at 1pm and I had an awful experience trying to file a missing wallet report at KL as you can only do it in the arrival section and trying to get access to this was just about impossible with out my boarding pass. So...
TIP 3: Never ever pop boarding pass in your purse that you might leave onboard a plane!
No matter, will file a report on our way back to KL.
So...........finally arrived in LOS and hired a car from David’s car hire. WOW they are awesome! Picked us up and they are only across the road from the airport so thought that was funny. Could have walked lol.
Glad we hired a car and we love driving....ohh except when Ross goes past our resort by 50mtrs then we have to find how on earth we can go back 50mtrs in a one way street.
So Tip 4: Make sure if you hire a car, know where you need to go!
We are staying at the Deevana Resort in a room with our own little spa/Plunge pool out the front.
Now we have the best room if you want to socialise.
Ours is the only one near the swim up pool bar with access to our room. Everyone else’s has a small wall with trees, so if you like seclusion great, if you like access, ask for room 4101.
Now i have to go to bed as it is really late. I have to tell you about Nicky’s handlebar in another post as there is so much to tell
Got to tell you about how this room has become the social capital. I said hello to a fellow tonight who was really nice and friendly. Now I told you that being right next to the pool bar we are attracting guests that somehow thinks being next to the pool bar and having their own drink rather than paying what our dollar is, but still being in the action so to speak is fun! I agree!
Anyway this wonderful man I spent a lot of time with turned out to be the captain of the USS Chancellorsville.
What a nice man, invited Ross and I out to meet his crew. OMG, OMG, OMG......Yes I am being so flippant, what an absolute thrill! His driver is picking us up tomorrow and I get to have photo’s taken in a black hawk. OMG lol. Sorry Captain mark, I asked Captain John out with us, but he is doing things with the Thai Navy! I laughed about this.
So Tip 5 today: Never take people for granted, someday if they say they are a Captain of a USS war ship, just maybe they are. Just like my brother who was Squadron Leader of the F111’s.
So much more to tell.
