Day Tips in Phuket

Does anyone knows how much the day trips cost in Phuket?

Those 1 day island hopping trips, which include Phi Phi, Maya islands, where we can snorkel too.

Thank you!

Hi there,

We have done a couple of tours with tour east and they were both very good but while we found them very professional i think they are also the dearest tour operator in Phuket. We have booked and done many other tours and have used the advice of fellow travelers over there as well as different members info on this site.

For day trips within Phuket use one of the recommended drivers from Cathy & Gary's travel Pages, we use Daj or Mai they are less than half Tour East and very good.

A sailing trip to see the beautiful Phang Nar bay and its islands is a must and a very good operator is Captain Mark. http://www.phuketsailtours.com/

Trips out to Phi Phi ect there are many operators but Simba are very good http://www.simbaseatrips.com/main_english.htm

Cheers, Pete

Ive used many tour desks over the years. The best ive found is Andaman Tower Tour at the base of "Patong Tower". Its run by a lady called Tukki. The first time we used her we booked tours etc. every day or two and she slashes the price without even bartering. This is the same 4 years later. Compared to others we and friends have used, this is the best by far. We have even chartered private boats to ourselves for a good price and rented a 2 bedroom apartment in the tower through her.

As for what you are after, i suggest going in and seeing her. The james bond island tour, with longboat ride, elephant trekking, sea canoe and the island itself was around AUS$50. Hope this is of some help.

Another alternative for Phi Phi Island or other snorkeling around Phuket is La Moet.

They do a nice Phi Phi Island trip and even an overnight trip to Krabi or a simple day trip around Phuket.

They don't use nor need to use the standard agents around Phuket as they are recommended by some of the Scandinavian agencies in Phuket.

It is VERY family friendly and the boat is a converted Thai Fishing boat. Very nicely done with plenty of indoor lounging space, outdoor space, changing rooms and bathrooms.

They have a snorkel guide go snorkelign with you and have good quality snorkel equipment.

The only thing is that it is mainly Scandinavian Clientele but the tour leader will also do the tour in English.

The website is in Swedish http://www.lamoet.com but you can email direct in English to info@lamoet.com

We used http://www.phuket-adventures.com/ for phi phi and found them to be very good. Cost us 3,300 bht

per person including transfer from our hotel, lunch and plenty of snorkelling. Dont know if this is expensive ,but we had a great time!!

Just returned from Phuket. We did a day tour of Phi Phi & Khai Island with AndaVaree tours.

www.andavaree.com

It was a speed boat trip and a great day. Includes transfers from hotel, fruit, cookies & cold drinks throughout the day, lunch on Phi Phi, mask & snorkel. There was plenty of beautiful scenery, snorkelling and fish. We had an excellent day and our guide - "the beautiful Lucy" was very entertaining and knowledgable. He/she made the day very special.

The brochure quotes 2,800 Baht for an adult, but we paid 3,600 for 2 adults. A tip is that most of the tour desks, outside of hotels, will always slash the price from those quoted in the brochures so make sure you never pay full price.

We have just come back from Phuket. In terms of trips it depends what you wont. We had a great day out with Captain Mark. Just 10 of us on the boat, The best Thai food, We actually did some sailing not just motoring, we went to the hongs and caves avoiding all the 100's packed onto the other boats. (he just knows how to time it and some of these places are stunning and you just dont wont it spoilt with lots of people) We unfortunately had a very wet stormy return but we were kept safe, provided with raincoats and our 11 year old was very happy singing sea shanties 'Titanic fashion' at the front of the boat with Mark. He is not the cheapest but you do have a unique experience.
