Kamala Beach

Staying at the Palms in Kamala Beach for 2 weeks in June. Wondering if many shops and restaurants in the area?? We are taking our 2 children 2 and 1, so don't want to have to walk too far. happy to stay away from busy Patong, but still want to be able to go out to eat and do some shopping.

The Palms is right in the center of town on the beach road through Kamala. Plenty of shops and restaurants in the immediate area in either direction.

We stayed at Kamala Beach Resort 2 years ago with a 9 year old and had no problems walking everywhere with her. Nice to be out of the frenzy of Patong. We prefered the beach here to Patong beach as well.

Try the little restaurants along the beach front to the right if you face the sea of Kamala Beach Resort found them cheap and food good. So nice to sit with your feet in the sand watching the sunset having you evening meal.

You should be fine, take care to watch location of accommodation, in June you should have no problems finding very good deals at well located accommodation close to the beach, but do watch for those properties that are away from the beach area.

In June it probably will not be very busy. Courtyard by Marriott has 1 and 2 bedroom apartments with kitchenette, kid's club etc if you are interested, though it is a walk to the beach. Kamala Beach Hotel ( at the beach ) has family rooms for 2 adults and 2 children. That is truly excellent location ! Better than Courtyard for location.
