Shoes, I love shoes!

Ok first laundry, there are loads of places in Karon that will be able to assist you here. Once you arrive at your hotel, just check with the reception area, or the surrounding areas, there will be one there for sure ;-)

Now over to the shoes, I specialise in this for sure.

I have a passion for shoes and have managed to get about 80 pairs in wardrobe here!

For the sizing you will stand a better chance of picking up bargains for the sizes 4-5, 6 can be found but not as many are made in this size.

Although the bigger size shoes can be found in Patong for sure.

I can recommend the following places to try.

Central Shopping Mall (near to Phuket town)

Check out:

JASPAL

LYNN

CPS

(they can be all a little pricey but bargains are sure to be found very soon here, with the sales about to happen!)

Have a look inside Central Department store to sometimes there are bargains to be found here, with beautiful shoes at discounted prices.

Have a look on the second floor at BATA, they have quite cheap shoes there, and when I was there the other day they had a sale on that was located just outside the front-side entrance with loads of shoes for 200 THB!

If you go to Patong, check out Jungceylon Shopping Mall and inside near to Boots area (you might have to have a look around here a bit) there is a very colourful shoe shop which has bags and loads of shoes in weird and wonderful styles, this is a good shop, but you have to look hard. Don't be frightened off by the garish look!

Also Patong has great little stall on the beach front, where you can by leather type flip flops, which are really nice to.

Then there is TESCO & BIG C, they have discounted shoes in small sizes for about 199 per pair.

There is also a Zara here but that's the same as the UK.

Good luck and happy shoe shopping ;-)

Thailand is shoe heaven for ladies with small feet. I am normally about a size 5.5 in Aus (think that's 4.5UK) and when we were there last year I was so spoilt for choice. At home I normally have to pay full price to get in my size. I bought cheap shoes last year - one pair cost me 100THB in BKK. But they didnt last very long. Soles broke very quickly. I bought another comfortable pair in MBK in BKK and they were 200THB and I've just gotten them re-soled because the sole rubber was very soft. My 'expensive' shoes which I bought on Koh Tao cost me 350THB are still going well and I always get compliments when I wear them. Happy shopping!

The problem I have found with shoes in Phuket is that very few of them are made of leather and the Thais seem to have a broad foot, so many shoes are too wide (even though my foot is not narrow). The non-leather shoes seem to stretch very quickly too.

I haven't bought a good pair of shoes in Phuket yet and I am definitely a shoe lovin' girl.

I'm sure you'll find some shoes that will make you happy though. Robinsons at Ocean Plaza have a fair selection as well.

Lisa that shoe shop in Jungceylon is amazing!! I have never seen such strange looking shoes in my life but there is also some very beautiful ones in there as well. Lots of nice handbags, belts etc also. Shame that I have big feet haha.

I thought I had a wide foot, but I didnt have any trouble with the shoes which I was really surprised at. Maybe I didnt try on enough. Had limited time without husband. Will have to make time to checkout the above listed stores!!

Hi if you are interested in some custom shoes then I recommend a small shop just past the Boathouse in Kata. It is next to Summer Coffee shop on a small walkway leading to the beach. It is called Andaman Creations

They have some in the shop and can also copy shoes....

Oooh, I will definitely go there, Sylvie. I have some shoes I'd love to have copied! I didn't know anyone did it in Phuket.

Andaman Creations is great, they have nice bags but check out the jewelry, OMG it's SO beautiful :-)

Being a big foot to Cathy, I will pop in there and design a pair soon, if I can get any more shoes in my cupboard, ha ha!

(in a previous life I wish I could have been a shoe designer :-))

Have to agree that Andaman Creations is great! Even better is they are within seconds walk from our shop.

Since it is so difficult to get decent leather sandals I decided to have my favourite pair (on their last legs so to speak) copied.

Whilst they were being used to copy (no brand name BTW) somebody tried to purchase my originals which were lying around the shop. This person actually got quite stroppy with the owner who had to explain that they were not for sale and belonged to somebody else.

The copy is great and I am thinking of having more made up with different colour leathers.

They have made quite a few copies in different sizes and apparently they are selling well.

Oh and needless to say the price is half of what the originals cost.

Cheers

Chantal.
