where to stay

We 2 couples in our late 50's and are planning a trip to Thailand in November. We will be going on a Star Clipper cruise in the Andaman Sea for 7 days that begins and ends in Phuket. We are planning on staying in Phuket for one night at the end of the cruise.

I am having a hard time deciding where to stay. I know the Patong area would be the most convenient but we might enjoy a more peaceful location that has good access to Patong. We prefer a more upscale property. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Cak2,

Stay in Patong as its very easy to get around there. When in your hotel and grounds you are well away from the noise but can you can be close to all Patong has to offer.

Cheers, Pete

Thara Patong Beach Resort & Spa is prominently situated at Patong Beach offering a superb combination of service, value for money and location.

It is just a short stroll to the Beach, the bustling shopping and nightlife areas. It is approximately 42 km. to Phuket International Airport (about 50 minutes

drive) and about 25 minutes drive to Phuket Town.

The resort offers two stunning free form shaped swimming pools with adjacent children’s pool and jacuzzi. All 180 rooms offer a balcony with stunning

views on the tropical garden. Non-smoking rooms as well as rooms for handicapped are available.

Stay in Patong, it's peaceful enough at the north and south ends of the beach. Look at Holiday Inn Busakorn rooms for a touch of class, or a suite at Duangjitt with it's beautiful grounds and massive pool. If shopping is your gig, stay at the Millenium, with Jungceylon on your doorstep. I've always wanted to stay at the Diamond Cliff, but know nothing about it except it's expensive !

Karon is not far away, you could stay at Movenpick or the Hilton. But if you are going to visit Patong, you may as well stay in Patong.
