Marina v Katathani v Holiday Inn (Patong)

Which of the 3 has the most attractive rooms and bathrooms

(I am considering Ocean View in Marina and Katathani).

The Marina and Katathani appear to had nicer surroundings and even rooms to the Holiday Inn however the Holiday Inn has great reviews and is the closest to shopping, restaurants etc

How far is the Marina from shopping areas and markets?

The Marina is near lots of shops and restaurants.

The Katathani is a good 10-15mins walk or Tuk Tuk ride to shops and restaurants. Both are on the beach

The Holiday Inn is right in the heart of Patong.

Work out where you want to be, Patong is very different from Kata/Karon or Kata Noi

Rooms and bathrooms change with the level of room you choose. A Deluxe room will be nicer than a Superior room. A suite will be nicer than a Deluxe. You need to be comparing apples with apples.

For $30US less, I would rather the 2 storey Family Suite at Duangjitt than a Busakorn Villa room at Holiday Inn. And we aren't talking a pool access Busakorn Villa either, they are much dearer. Others will disagree.

But seeing you don't get an ocean view from either, I'd stay at the Grand Villa at Marina rather than at Katathani, just because the walk to the middle of Kata is easier from Marina. A tuk tuk from Marina to Patong will only take a little over 10 minutes.
